The Sullivan is on the second floor of the Captain Bennis House. The space offers a fully equipped kitchen, a full Jack and Jill bathroom with original fixtures dating back to the 1930s, a bedroom with queen bed, and an adjacent bedroom with twin bed. There is also an amply sized sitting room. The front windows offer the house's best distant views of Frenchman Bay, Bar Harbor, and Cadillac Mountain. The Sullivan is named in honor of Daniel Sullivan, Revolutionary War hero, for whom the town was named after. Daniel was the great grandfather of Elizabeth (Lizzie) H. Simpson, wife of Captain Spiro Bennis. The Captain and Lizzie had this stoic house built on the hillside in 1875 where they raised their four children. |
